Legal Counsel

This Legal Counsel position requires you to be responsible for managing and minimising legal risk to the bank through providing legal advice on all aspects of the bankâ..s business, managing the efficient provision of advice by external lawyers and assisting the business in understanding the legal environment in which it operates. You will be pro-actively involved in the managing the external legal services, design, implement and maintain standard end to end legal process policy, product and business change review & impact analysis documentation of processes (& changed processes)(including legal sign off requirements), preparation of standard documentation, adapting ANZ Group standards where applicable to Indonesia requirement, provide timely commercially relevant legal advice in response to business queries regarding individual transactions or legal issue and ensure all legal processes and practices are undertaken within the group legal framework.

You will also be required to look into the business relationships, effective working relationships and influence to maintain excellent working relationships with key parts of the business requiring legal services. You will be required to assist the compliance function in ensuring that regulatory developments relevant to the business are monitored and implications of these developments are considered and bank policies, products and processes are modified to ensure compliance and provide or arrange for external lawyers to provide updates on significant legal developments and regular training to the business on legal developments/ issues of relevance to them.

Requirements:

It will be good if you can apply business knowledge, have concern for quality and standard and would be able to deliver results. Also if your able to live the values by showing capacity to resolve problems through supporting and managing change by understanding the organisation.

8+ years of legal experience in banking industry, desirably in retail and corporate banking. Your are expected to have good knowledge of local business practices and cultures with sound knowledge of regulatory environment governing banking and banking products, sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and legal drafting skills. A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with diverse areas within the bank to work independently and set priorities for multiple task with well developed negotiation skills along with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and good written and verbal communication skills.
